Southern NSW Local Health District (LHD) Australia employs over 3,000 people at over 20 locations, making it one of the region’s largest employers with most of the local staff in the communities they serve. Doctors, nurses and allied health professionals make up about 70 percent of the workforce. Southern NSW LHD has 14 public inpatient facilities comprising 11 hospitals and three comprehensive wards.
Two roles for one Director of Medical Services are required for southern NSW LHD; Plateau Network and Coastal Network.
The Director of Medical Services Tablelands Network and Coastal Network reporting to the Managing Director of the respective Networks and professionally reporting to the Executive Director of Medical Services, will be responsible for medical staff management, policy development, financial strategy, reviews and clinical audits. They will manage the recruitment and retention of personnel specialists, HOVs and back-ups; oversee policy development; policy review, implementation and refinement; design and manage the budget and financial strategy; and ensure good clinical practice.
They will be physicians fully registered with the Medical Board of Australia or the Medical Council of New Zealand and preferably also Fellow or Associate Fellow of RACMA.
