MountainView Regional Medical Center (MVRMC) has appointed Matthew Conrad as CEO effective September 20, MVRMC said in a press release. Conrad has been interim CEO since mid-July, MVRMC said.
“The MVRMC is proud to have served the community of Las Cruces and surrounding areas for almost 20 years,” said Conrad. “I am delighted to continue this commitment and to work closely with our Board of Directors, physicians, staff and volunteers to provide quality care, exceptional patient experiences and strong employee engagement. “
Conrad was Assistant General Manager of Carolinas Hospital Systems in South Carolina 2013-17. In 2017, he was appointed COO of Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida. Conrad moved to Abilene, Texas in 2019 as COO for Abilene Regional Medical Center before coming to Las Cruces as COO MVRMC at the end of 2020. In these roles he supported caregivers in their efforts to improve health. patient satisfaction, played a key role in the growth of employed physician offices and hospital service lines, and oversaw renovation and expansion projects, according to the press release.
“Matthew’s leadership will undoubtedly take MVRMC to the next level,” said MVRMC President Joe Bullock. “He interacts well with all employees and physicians and is known to be pragmatic and fair. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we are delighted to begin working with him in his new role.
Born in Frankfort, Kentucky and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Conrad received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Darla Moore School of Business and a Masters of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Grand Las Cruces.
