Trumbull Regional Medical Center Appoints New President | News, Sports, Jobs


WARREN – Trumbull Regional Medical Center has named Cindy Russo as hospital president effective today.

Russo has served as COO of the Ohio and Pennsylvania Region at Steward Health Care since February 2021 and has over 20 years of hospital and healthcare leadership experience. Prior to joining the Steward Health Care team, she held several leadership positions at Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, Maine, including Acting President and Chief Operating Officer. Additionally, she previously served as President and Executive Director of Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, Mass.

Russo has extensive clinical and operational experience in various hospital and healthcare settings. She spent most of her career at Hartford Healthcare in Meriden, Conn., before becoming Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations at MidState Medical Center.

A graduate of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Russo earned a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Health Care Administration from the Hartford Graduate Center and earned her Ph.D. in health administration. at Capella University.
